The old PhotoGuides design was has served us well, but it was time for a change. Welcome to PhotoGuides 4.0!
I’m really excited to be finally releasing this. I never intended to do a redesign, I just got carried away with a small design tweak. Very, very carried away. With this new design PhotoGuides has been drastically simplified, all focus has been placed on reading and content discovery with clear navigation links, share buttons and an awesome home page.
The primary focus though has been on laying the groundwork for more regular posting. With the new ‘Awesome Stuff’ section on the home page PhotoGuides now caters for versatile, regular articles about anything photography related. We’re no longer confined to guides and tutorials. Now we can share cool links, inspiring ideas or articles about awesome new products and they won’t look out of place.
One other noteworthy feature is Facebook integration. On PhotoGuides you can now log in directly with Facebook to gain access to ‘members only content’ like HD video tutorials, free downloads and some top secret articles. Plus we’ve made it even easier to share articles you like with your friends!
I’d really love to hear your thoughts on the new design. Do you like it? How can we improve it? Let us know in the comments below!
And finally, we’re also looking for enthusiastic new writers to share great tutorials and ideas. If you’re interested in writing for PhotoGuides, whether your specialty is photography, photoshop or you’ve simply got great ideas, please do get in touch!
Thanks guys, and enjoy the new site
